Singapore’s business-friendly IP regime has helped bolster the confidence of leading global companies such as Procter and Gamble, Continental, and Mead Johnson, all of whom have selected Singapore as their location of choice for investments in business and research & development, citing the country’s strong protection of IP rights as a factor in their decisions.

Global Innovation Index 2025 ranks countries' innovation performance, and Singapore was named as the fifth most innovative nation in the world, the third consecutive year that Singapore is in the top five. This is also the second year that Singapore has achieved the greatest number of top-ranked indicators as Singapore topped 10 out of 78 indicators. The indicators Singapore had ranked top included government effectiveness, FDI net inflows, unicorn valuations, high-tech manufacturing, and cultural and creative services exports. International Property Rights Index 2024, which measures the strength of a country's property rights regime, including both intellectual and physical property rights, ranked Singapore second.
World Trademark Review IP Office Innovation Ranking 2024 ranked Singapore fifth amongst 50 of the world’s leading IP offices, recognising them for innovation in various areas, including value-added propositions to their users, online capabilities and public outreach efforts.
2021 Bloomberg Innovation Index, which scores economies using factors including research and development spending, manufacturing capability and concentration of high-tech public companies ranked Singapore second in the world.
World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report 2019 ranked Singapore as second in the world and top in Asia for having the best IP protection. Overall, Singapore is ranked first as the world's most competitive country.
