Peter specialises in valuation and damages quantification, with a particular focus on contentious matters including litigation, arbitration, expert determination, and mediation. Over 16+ years of practice, he has led or supported approximately 100 valuation mandates, many involving complex cross-border issues.

He has deep expertise in the valuation of intangible assets, from the more traditional to novel and emerging asset classes. He has been engaged to value such assets a billion-dollar Web 3.0 asset, estimating the uplift in “social value” from proposed infrastructure projects, and assessing the value of goodwill, intellectual property, technology start-ups, brands, and contractual and regulatory rights.

He also regularly advises on or provides expert evidence for the quantification of remedies related to intangible assets, including loss of profits, diminution in value, and account of profits.

Peter has published and presented on a range of topics, including dispute case studies, class actions, arbitration and expert determinations, and the valuation of intangible assets, including data, start-up and technology companies, damages arising from “ESG factors”, and on the intersection between intellectual property, intangible assets and artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technology. His technical insights have appeared in leading legal journals and peer-reviewed valuation publications, including his own derived mathematical proofs on the mathematical equivalence of diminution in business value with loss of profits under certain conditions.
