Dr. Yu is a Patent Attorney and Technology Consultant. He has gained deep industrial experiences from manufacturing, technology research and product development. With his solid science and technological background as well as expertise in Singapore intellectual property (IP) law, Dr. Yu provides a one-stop service integrating innovative practical technology consultancy to intellectual property protection, and assisting clients to unleash organisations’ IP values through market commercialisation strategies.

Dr. Yu has worked as an Engineer after obtaining his first degree in Mechatronic Engineering (Robotics) in Shanghai, China. After accomplishing his PhD in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering at The University of Birmingham in UK, Dr Yu moved to Singapore where he was employed as a R&D Engineer with a MNC, manufacturing consumer products. Recognising the importance of IP protection after years of new product development, Dr. Yu embarked on his career path as an IP professional in year 2005. He is qualified to practice as a Singapore Registered Patent Agent specialising in patent, trademark, registered design protection and prosecution. Dr. Yu has lectured Innovation and Technology Management subjects. He is currently an Adjunct Lecturer for Intellectual Property Law and also a member of the examination committee for the Singapore Patent Agents Qualifying Examination.
