IPOS Assistant Chief Executive speaks at INTA Asia-Pacific Conference
Assistant Chief Executive Mr Ng Kok Wan spoke at the International Trademark Association (INTA) Asia-Pacific Conference 2018, which took place on 11 Oct in Sydney, Australia.
In line with the conference’s theme of “Looking Beyond Trademarks – Protecting and Leveraging Your Brands for Growth”, Mr Ng spoke about IPOS’ expanded role in building the innovation ecosystem in Singapore, where companies from anywhere in the world can come to monetise their ideas and commercialise their IP. He also shared how the trademark registry is continuously seeking to improve their services to help businesses to secure protection for their brands.
Prior to the INTA conference, Mr Ng also made a study visit to IP Australia, where the two delegations exchanged views on their respective IP offices’ digitisation plans.
INTA is a global association of brand owners and professionals dedicated to supporting trademarks and related IP to foster consumer trust, economic growth, and innovation. In 2020, Singapore will host its 142nd Annual Meeting – the world’s largest trademark event. It will be the first time the event is held in Southeast Asia.
