IPOS, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office exchange insights on patent leadership practices
30 May 2017 – The inaugural Senior Examiner Training Programme between the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and IPOS took place from 15 to 19 May 2017. USPTO’s Training and Development Programme Manager, Dr Patrick Nolan, and Patent Attorney, Mr Pete Mehravari shared their views on leadership and management with team leaders and management staff from IPOS International (IPOS-I).
Dr Nolan and Mr Mehravari introduced the leadership skills and management techniques patent managers adopt at the USPTO, which sparked lively discussions as the participants shared their personal experiences and challenges they face in their management journeys.
The week’s activities were comprehensive and benefitted the IPOS-I management team immensely. IPOS is confident that the insights gleaned will go a long way in providing quality search and examination services from a capable and motivated team, and in turn, support a vibrant ecosystem for innovative enterprises to commercialise and monetise their IP from Singapore.
