IPOS signs tripartite agreement to encourage innovation and promote cooperation between Singapore and China's enterprises

As part of IPOS’ efforts to connect local enterprises with IP and innovation communities around the world, Chief Executive of IPOS, Mr Daren Tang, attended the 8th Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council Meeting in Guangzhou, China, on 22 Aug 2017. Held in conjunction with the Sino-Singapore Knowledge Forum1 (SSKF), the annual flagship event of Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (SSGKC), the meeting saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IPOS, the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment and Development Co Ltd (GKC Co) and Business China Singapore (BCS).

The MoU aims to promote cooperation in IP and innovation between Singapore and China’s enterprises, associations, and other stakeholders such as research institutes. The strategic cooperation will create business opportunities surrounding developments in the Belt and Road initiative, facilitate talent exchange, build a network of talents from the professional services sectors, increase strategic collaborations in innovation, research and commercialisation activities, as well as enhance bilateral relations by identifying economic opportunities in strategic sectors.

IPOS will continue to work with international stakeholders to help local entrepreneurs and enterprises translate their ideas into assets, and use IP to compete effectively and grow globally.

1The SSKF has been the annual flagship event of the SSGKC since its inception in 2013. As the strategic dialogue platform jointly supported by the leaders of Guangdong and Singapore, the SSKF sees many renowned experts from both Singapore and China exchange views on key issues and trends pertaining to the development and collaboration between both countries.
