IPOS explores cooperation opportunities with China in IP and innovation


24 Feb 2017 – In a two-day visit to China, Chief Executive of IPOS, Mr Daren Tang met with Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), Mr Shen Changyu, Vice Minister of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (SAIC), Liu Junchen, Vice Minister of the National Copyright Administration of the People’s Republic of China (NCAC), Mr Yan Xiaohong, and Professor of Law at Renmin University, Mr Liu Chuntian.

IPOS shared how her role has evolved to that of an innovation agency, helping entrepreneurs and businesses take their technology, brands and content to the world. Discussions also revolved around how Singapore and China could further strengthen collaboration in IP and innovation. New areas of cooperation to support Singaporean and Chinese businesses in the protection, promotion and commercialisation of their IP along the Belt and Road were also explored.

IPOS looks forward to working closely with SIPO to empower businesses by serving the cross-border flow of ideas and technology.
