IPOS exchanges insights with Central and Eastern Europe on IP commercialisation
IPOS welcomed government and university officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland and the Russian Federation on Friday, 23 Jun 2017. The visit was part of a Study Visit on Best Practices of Intellectual Property (IP) Management at Universities and Research Institutions organised by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Assistant Chief Executive (Commercialisation), Mr Tan Shau En, presented IPOS’ insights on the close relationship between IP and enterprise development. He also shared IPOS’ innovation and IP commercialisation initiatives with the officials.
With four countries represented, the participants had a rich dialogue of observations and lessons from their experiences promoting innovation and IP management in their home countries. Supporting enterprises with the IP expertise and capital to innovate and grow was a key theme of the discussion, and the services and case studies of IPOS’ subsidiary, IP ValueLab, received great interest.
In addition, the delegation enjoyed a tour of IP 101, IPOS’ one-stop customer service centre. They were also given an overview of IPOS’ innovative customer service approach, which incorporates both cutting-edge digital tools such IPOS’ e-filing system IP2SG, and personalised services such as IP Clinics and Business Clinics.
Strengthening links with the international innovation and IP community is part of IPOS’ mission as an innovation agency, to drive growth for Singapore’s economy and enterprises.
