What the Graduates Say about the FLINT Programme:
“FLINT initiative’s vision and efforts to empower youths with knowledge on intellectual property ("IP") and intangible assets ("IA") is critical in this era of rapid digital transformation!
It complements other initiatives relating to IP and IA such as the joint "IPOS-IPKat Initiative” (project managed by IPSA in collaboration with the FLINT team where university students are encouraged to publish IP-related articles on an international platform) and the Code for Fun Enrichment Programme (offered jointly by IMDA and MOE where primary school students are taught computational thinking and coding concepts).”
Hong Qibin, NUS
“It was a privilege to be part of the FLINT programme. The FLINT programme, along with the joint IPOS-IPKat initiative, helped to build upon what I learnt in school and opened my eyes to novel types of IP rights, like Traditional Knowledge that preserves indigenous culture. Through the FLINT programme, students get to go beyond the textbooks and heighten their appreciation of IP issues around the world, all within a thought-provoking and engaging programme.”
Jacqueline Gwee, NUS
“The FLINT programme is a great opportunity to learn more about IP law beyond law school. The WIPO Distance Learning course is a good opportunity for law students to learn more about IP law beyond the Singapore context and also touches on topics that may not be emphasized in school. The joint IPOS-IPKat initiative also allows law students to begin contributing articles on Singapore IP law cases. I would encourage those that are interested in this area to join the FLINT programme.”
Denise Ee, NUS
“Intellectual property (“IP”) has been becoming essential for innovation and progress, and FLINT Initiative represents a purposeful opportunity for the students of today and managers of tomorrow!
FLINT Initiative is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the understanding of how IP is crucial to spur innovation. Young IP students will benefit from this precious initiative and from the contact with presenters and IP experts. The FLINT journey will surely give them a step ahead!”
Claudia Borghini, NUS
“Issues relating to intellectual property (“IP”) are increasingly relevant in today’s corporate climate, and knowledge in such issues will be essential in protecting the interests of creators, innovators, and consumers.
The FLINT Initiative launched by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (“IPOS”) is an effective way for youths to be aware of how to manage issues relating to IP. Through the interactive workshops which include practical case studies faced by real businesses, participants will be able to grasp the IP concepts with ease and to learn how to apply what they have learnt in real life. The experience gained after the completion of the World Intellectual Property Organization’s Distance Learning course and the advanced IP course organised by IP Academy will also stand the participants of the FLINT Initiative in good stead regardless of the industry they work for in future.”
Lenon Ong, NUS
