IP Legal Clinic
Our IP Legal Clinic provides Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents and/or Singapore registered businesses with access to a selected panel of professional lawyers.
This 45-minute consultation session (for first-time requestors only) allows you to seek preliminary advice on IP infringement, opposition, invalidation, or revocation matters before you decide on the next course of action. You are required to pay a fee (ranging from $200 - $500) directly to the law firm before IPOS reimburses you for the cost of the session.
To prevent any conflict of interests, the IPOS-appointed law firm may reach out to verify your personal details before proceeding with the IP Legal Clinic. Should there be a conflict of interest, the law firm will cancel your booking, and you will have to make a new appointment with a lawyer from a different law firm.
IPOS has partnered the Singapore Management University’s Yong Pung How School of Law (SMUYPHSL) to pilot the Mentoring IP Leaders programme (IP MILE), an initiative to grow Singapore’s IP talent pool. A law student from the programme may attend your session to be mentored by the law firm.
