With effect from 1 December 2011, IPOS will be introducing some fee adjustments. The fee increases are mainly for items such as trade mark registration, patent search and examination and international patent application entering Singapore. IPOS has not had any adjustment of the registration fees since 2007. The increases are necessary to keep pace with the increasing operating costs.
In addition, IPOS will be introducing a new Form, PF40A, as a measure to standardize hearings procedures. This form would be used for Patents hearings on the substantive issues in inter-partes proceedings.
