Intellectual Property Management(IPM) for SMEs Programme

The IP Management (IPM) for SMEs Programme, jointly managed by SPRING Singapore and IPOS, is designed for local small and medium enterprises (SMEs)  that want to improve their competitiveness by capitalising on IPM as a strategic tool. The programme will help SMEs to manage the life cycle of their IPs, including its creation, ovnership, protection and commercial exploitation.

The programme is open to companies that:
  • Are registered or incorporated in Singapore;
  • Have at least 30% local shareholding;
  • Have fixed assets at net book value of S$15m or less*;
  • Have 200 or less employees* (for companies in the services sector).
Funding

Grants are available for both Stage I and Stage II IP Management projects.

Stage I: Diagnose
Stage II: Capability Development
  • Up to 50% of qualifying costs including but not limited to, manpower, equipment and materials, consultancy and acquisition of intellectual property rights.
IP management capability development projects include, but are not limited to:
  • IP Audit
  • IP Consulting
  • IP Education and Training
  • IP Intelligence and Research
  • IP Strategy
  • IP Valuation
  • IP Licensing
  • IP Portfolio Management

Non SMEs interested in taking part in the IP Management(IPM) programme can contact us directly.
* Computed on a group basis i.e. checking up to three levels for corporate shareholders holding 20% or more of the total shareholding in the company and one level down where the company holds more than 50% of the shareholding in a subsidiary company.
