To make Singapore a compelling Intellectual Property (IP) hub with an IP savvy generation, we have developed several programmes with our different target groups in mind including the general public, schools, businesses and IP professionals. To groom an IP savvy generation, it is important to raise IP awareness level and to educate the general public and students on the importance of protecting and respecting IP. Our flagship public outreach initiative - the HIP (Honour IP) Alliance, established since 2002 is a collaborative effort between the public and private sector. Our HIP Partners work with us to champion a movement through a wide spectrum of programmes and activities so as to inspire the general public to respect IP and to reject piracy. Members of the public are encouraged to support this movement by pledging their respect for IP and becoming our HIP Friends through active participation. IP is an increasingly valuable asset to any business today. It is hence critical for companies to manage their IP well so as to gain maximum value for their bottomline.
