Singapore, 23 October 2009 – Get insights from copyright thought leaders on the profound impact of digital technology on the regional copyright landscape and the environment where creative industries operate. Deepen your understanding of the challenges and opportunities in mapping out business and licensing models in copyright-related industries. These and other topical issues will be discussed at the WIPO Asia Pacific Regional Forum on Copyright and Related Rights which will be held on 29 to 30 October.
The forum is jointly organised by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore and the International Confederation of Authors and Composers Societies (CISAC). The event will feature a keynote address by H.E. Yan Xiaohong, Vice-Minister of the National Copyright Administration of China on China’s Perspective on Copyright Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific Region.
This premier copyright forum will also focus on the role of copyright offices and collective management organizations - the two main administrators in the field of copyright systems - in coping with the current technological developments in a manner that benefits the consumers, users and rights-holders. Over 100 experts, thought leaders, academics, representatives of industry and businesses, rights-holders, users and consumers are expected to take part in the two-day event, including copyright officials from the Asia-Pacific region.
