In an environment of fast changing technology and business trends, having a great idea is just not enough. You will need to design and manage a process that can see through an idea from its conception and product development, to determining the best intellectual property (IP) protection and exploitation strategies. You need an IP management process.

The process of managing IP would not be optimised without the value-add patent information can bring throughout the various stages of IP management. Patent information services have long ceased to be mere document or bare information delivery systems. Information services have become “intelligence” agents and tools, adding yet another competitive leverage to companies savvy enough to grasp the advantages they provide.

EAPIC 2005 will provide businesses with the necessary foundation to understand the various facets of patent information and the new tools and services that have been developed, as well as guidance on how these can be applied throughout various stages in the process of IP management.
