Singapore: A Dynamic Global City in Asia
|
Global businesses will find it advantageous to set up their bases and regionalize their business activities in Singapore. Strong trade and investment makes Singapore the most competitive country in the world (IMD World Competitiveness Report 2010). The World Bank also ranks the Republic as the world’s easiest place to do business (Doing Business 2009).
As a preferred location for innovation, Singapore has nurtured a rich Research & Development (R&D) ecosystem and robust intellectual property (IP) regime. Being ranked best in the world for IP protection (Global Competitiveness Report 2009 - 2010), companies can rely on protection of their ideas and innovations. Singapore’s strong commitment to the protection and enforcement of proprietary knowledge and innovation has spurred the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) to set up its first Asian regional office in June 2005 in Singapore.
For the 4th China – Singapore Intellectual Property Conference, speakers will share on the latest developments in the IP regime in Singapore, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), IP in online and digital environments, and translating ideas to valuable IP. In discussion, they will also look ahead at how foreign enterprises can seek IP protection and manage commercialisation. A business matching cum helpdesk session is available for companies to further explore establishing trade partnerships on the 2nd day at the ZhengJiang Hi-Tech Park.
If you are interested to know more about commercializing your IP, this is THE conference for you. The 4th China – Singapore Intellectual Property Conference 2010 is brought to you by Intellectual Property Office of Singapore and State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R.C.
