Patents (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2006

The Patents (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2006 came into force on 1 August 2006. In summary:
  1. Item 49A of the First Schedule has been amended to reflect that for PCT applications with a date of filing on or after 1 July 2004 that enter national phase into Singapore, no prescribed fee is payable for a PF 45A(2004) request for extension of periods under sections 29(7) and 30(1)(a) of the Patents Act.
  2. The Eight Schedule has been deleted and the prescribed fees for the purchase of a copy of Patents Journal A and Patents Journal B are reflected in new item 60 of the First Schedule.

Patents (Amendment) Rules 2006
The amendment, which came into force on 2 June 2006, includes the Republic of Korea into the list of countries mentioned in Rule 41 of the Patents Rules. Reference should be made to the transitional provision of this amendment.
