This Notification declares that Section 6 of the Patents (Amendment) Act 2001 came into operation on 25 February 2002.
In brief, these Rules, which came into operation on 25 February 2002, are made to improve and streamline the patent processing system. This includes the introduction of two new forms (Patents Forms 11A and 11B), amendments to the Second Schedule, and to the presentation of patents documents.
Further, in relation to the revision of all the patent forms found in the Second Schedule (including the two new Patent Forms 11A and 11B), soft copies of the patent forms are made available here for the convenience of users. The legislation has been gazetted and they are now available for sale at SNP Corporation Ltd. It is also available at the web-site of http://www.egazette.com.sg for a limited period.
In brief, these amendments, which came into operation on 15 August 2002, includes Japan into the list of countries mentioned in rule 41 of the Patents Rules. Reference is also be made to the transitional provision of this amendment.
