Positions Available

Assistant Director, Public Relations Department

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Department to plan and execute corporate communications activities to promote the organisation through the media and publicity channels
  • Manage regular and ad hoc communications and maintain good working relations with local and foreign print and broadcast media
  • Support Crisis Communications, Corporate Identity Management and Events Management.


Requirements:

  • Good recognised Degree in Mass Communications, Marketing Communications or a relevant field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Corporate Communications / Public Relations / Media Relations
  • Experience in Crisis Communications, Marketing Communications and Website Management will be advantageous
  • Must possess excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills in English and be effectively bilingual for interacting with all levels of personnel
  • Good people skills

Legal Counsel, Hearings & Mediation Department

Responsibilities:

  • Adjudicate IP Disputes regarding registration of trade mark and designs, grants of patents and plant variety protection
  • Decide all interlocutory applications arising from the IP disputes
  • Conduct all pre-hearing matters, such as pre-hearing reviews and case management conferences
  • Manage the business processes of the HMD and the HMD content on the IPOS website
  • Conduct training internally and externally
  • Handle other legal work required by the IPOS

Requirements:

Applicants must:

  • Hold an LLB (Honours) degree and be admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore
  • Have a good knowledge of IP Law, in particular Trade Mark law
  • Preferably have 3 to 5 years working experience; litigation experience will be preferred but not essential
  • Be able to communicate well and have good legal writing skills


Junior Executive, Registry of Patents (2 positions)

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be part of a team involved in the processing of patent applications.
  • He or she will also be required to review work procedures to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • GCE 'O' Levels or equivalent
  • Good analytical and communication skills
  • Demonstrate an ability to work both in a team and also independently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

The above positions will be full-time contract (renewable) positions.
