Applying for Plant Variety Protection Outside Singapore

Protection for plant varieties is territorial in nature.

To obtain protection outside Singapore, it is necessary to file separate applications in the countries concerned.

As Singapore is a member country of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV), breeders who are nationals and residents of Singapore would be accorded national treatment in any member country of the UPOV Convention.
