PPH (IPOS-JPO)

Patent Prosecution Highway Pilot Programme between the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore and the Japan Patent Office

The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and the Japan Patent Office (JPO) have launched a Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot. The purpose of the programme is to share search and examination results between the offices to allow applicants in both countries to obtain corresponding patents faster and more efficiently.

The pilot period commences on 1 July 2009, for a period of one year ending on 1 July 2010. This period may be extended for up to an additional year or terminated earlier depending on the volume of participation and other factors. Advanced notice will be given should the PPH pilot programme be terminated before 1 July 2010.
