• Leveraging new media for public education
Under an integrated public outreach approach, IPOS has leveraged both online and offline channels to enhance its outreach to the public. For the online engagement, IPOS continued to leverage on the HIP Friends Facebook Page by posting regular bite-size interesting IP facts, trivia and also held regular contests to encourage members of the public to participate actively and learn about IP in an interactive way. An online pledge feature was also launched to rally users to make a stand against piracy by showcasing the HIP badges on their user profiles and newsfeeds. As at the end of the financial year, there are about 3,600 HIP friends.
In July 2010, IPOS also started fortnightly virtual chat sessions on various IP topics with users of the popular Habbo Hotel social networking site. As an active online social media platform, the InfoBus enables direct contact with almost 15,000 youths in a fun, stimulated class room style environment.
