• Improved IP Systems
As part of its continuous efforts to provide better services to its customers, IPOS has made incremental refinements to its IP registration process. An example is increasing the frequency of issuance of certificate of patent grant, which enables applicants to receive their certificates earlier.

In a move to provide further guidance and clarity on the patent grant process, IPOS launched the 'Guide on Patentability Issues Arising during Search and Examination' on 22 September 2010. This is the first of several guides intended to serve as a reference resource for examiners appointed by IPOS to perform searches and examinations related to Singapore patent applications. It can also serve as an important reference guide to applicants and the profession in the assessment and execution of their patent prosecution strategy. The initiative was widely welcomed by stakeholders.
