• Greater International Cooperation
In the area of trademarks, discussion with the USPTO, JPO and OHIM (collectively known as the Trilateral Partners) led to the conclusion of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to validate an agreed list of goods and services acceptable in the four jurisdictions.
The Trilateral List of goods and services expands the NICE Classification administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and facilitates consistency and harmonisation in the classification of goods and services internationally. This benefits trade mark applicants by ensuring greater consistency and harmonisation when filing for trade mark protection in two or more of these jurisdictions, resulting in significant time and cost savings.
