The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) is the lead government agency that advises on and administers intellectual property (IP) laws, promotes IP awareness and provides the infrastructure to facilitate the development of IP in Singapore. Our vision is to become an IP Hub of Asia. As part of this effort, we are establishing a Patent Search and Examination (S&E) Unit. The S&E Unit will help foster a stronger patent regime and be a motive force in the establishment of a vibrant IP ecosystem in Singapore.
You will conduct searches of the state-of-the-art to investigate whether an invention is new and judge whether the invention has a technical and legal basis to be granted a patent in Singapore.
You should have a strong foundation in science or engineering. Successful candidates will go through a structured training programme in patent laws and patent search and examination. You will have opportunities to attend professional training courses and seminars to keep pace with the latest developments in your technical field.
