Post (1) Lecturers
Description:
The IP Academy is the leading IP training institution in Singapore, providing skills and professional training in the field of IP. We are looking for a candidate to help IPA achieve its goal of carrying out training and development under a new and exciting IP capability development framework. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to shape the growth of the IP ecosystem, help to nurture the knowledge base of the IP professionals in both public and private sectors, work with leading IP industry figures, speak at leading IP events in Singapore and overseas, network with the Who's Who of IP at international IP conferences, as well as have an opportunity to carry out cutting edge empirical based IP research.
Job responsibilities:
- Conduct courses and training programs or facilitate workshops on intellectual property (IP). Programs include outreach events intended to bring awareness of the relevancy of IP, foundation courses providing an overview and its application in specific sectors, and skill development courses for professionals already in the field of IP. Programs of interest include the following:-
a) Patent Law courses at beginner and professional levels
b) IP Due Diligence and Technology Transfer
c) IP Management, Licensing and business advisory
- Opportunity to Carry out research projects and publish research papers in one or more of IPA's area of interest.
Job requirements:
1.
a) LLB (Honours) degree or a Juris Doctor qualification from a well regarded law school and candidates:
b) Should have read intellectual property and familiar with Singapore IP law; and
c) Have between 5-10 years of relevant experience as a:
i) Senior associate in a law firm or a senior lawyer in an in-house legal department;
ii) Researcher or trainer in an established research institute
OR
a) Science, engineering or technical Honours degree from a well regarded school and candidates should:
b) Have between 5 to 10 years of experience as:
i) a researcher or trainer in an established research institute; or
ii) IP professional (other than lawyers) in IP practice or IP business consultancy experience or IP Management experience.
2.
a) Advantageous to hold a postgraduate Masters level qualification. A legal qualification is ideal, but MBAs and Economics based qualifications will be considered. Familiarity with patent law and patent prosecution is a must. Experience in training and lecturing to professionals and executives will be an advantage.

a) Strong written and verbal communication skills.

IP Lawyers should have at least 7 post qualification experience in IP practice or IP business consultancy / Mangement experience
IP Peofessionals are required to have at least Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of IP practice or IP business consultancy / Mangement experience. Candidates will be required to furnish their IP business consultancy and or in-house Ip Mangement experience as track records.
Post (3) Senior Assistant Director (Programs)
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, implement and manage training programs including assisting and overseeing the marketing efforts.
- Review and revise approved training programs, including applying for accreditation where relevant.
- Identify, develop, implement and manage thought leadership programs (e.g. conferences, roundtables) including assisting and overseeing the marketing team.
- Project management of research work as assigned.
- Oversee the follow-up on any potential collaboration with external parties or special projects as assigned.
- Supervise or lead members of the programs team.
Job Requirements:
- A good degree from a recognized university;
- About 6 to 8 years of working experience, and preferably with experience in one of the following roles :
• a business development manager in a high-technology sector,
• a senior executive in an established technology transfer institute,
• a programme manager in the high-tech sector,
• a business consultant to SMEs/MNCs,
• a manager of a capability development programme, or
• an industry development manager in the high-tech sector.
- Experience in IP-related domain, training and education field, and event management of mega global events will be an advantage;
- Strong written/ verbal communication skills, and good relationship-building are attributes we are looking for;
- Self-motivated, well-organized individual with leadership skills and the ability to manage project of various sizes.
Post (4) Assistant Director (Programs)
